3D Printing Expanding Materials

Research conducted in the CSAIL Computational Fabrication Group to develop methods for 3D printing of materials that expand and move after being extruded. Motion was tracked with an array of lasers and cameras surrounding the print head.

We applied concepts to standard FDM abs printing, mixed and pressurized foams, and cookie batter.
